MUSKEGON, Mich. — The 12- by-14 foot chalet under construction on Muskegon's Pere Marquette Beach is moving.
Work on the chalet started this week near Beach Street and Channel Drive.
The city decided the beach location is not the best place for the structure because it can block views to Muskegon's lighthouses.
City leaders took a number of complaints and saw a wave of negative reaction to the site location on social media.
Friday—or early next week—the chalet will be moved about 40-yards closer to the NOAA station at the beach.
When finished, 3rd Coast Rental will use the building for watercraft and Sea Doo rentals.
