PORTLAND, Mich. — A Portland dad went viral this week, feeling the groove and making memories his family will cherish for a lifetime.
Paul Lightner loves to dance.
"The shopping cart, the sprinkler," he laughed.
And so do his three daughters, Kailey, Myla and Veda.
"We get along pretty well," said Kailey. "We do a lot of things together."
Ten years ago, mom Veronica signed them up for a daddy-daughter dance.
"Why not make the memories, you know," said Veronica.
Oldest daughter Kailey was first back then, but this week it was Myla and Veda's turn. A song came on with a dance Paul knew.
"Who hasn't been to a wedding, right," said Paul.
The Wobble.
He rushed to the dance floor, eager to show of his smooth moves.
"I followed after him," said Myla. "So I just kind of got the groove of doing the dance too."
His lesson now spreading across town. When son Lane Lightner saw a friend at school, he heard all about it.
"He goes, did you see your dad on Facebook yet?" said Lane. "And I'm like, no. So he shows me the video of him dancing."
The video was posted on Facebook and quickly made it around town. The whole family loved it.
"If it makes him happy, it makes me happy," said Veda.
"I'll be the silly dad if it makes them laugh," said Paul.
Laughter both the Lightners and the town of Portland aren't soon to forget and memories Paul encourages other dads to make as well.
"Don't worry about knowing the dance," he said. "What's really important is that you're there with your daughter."
