Now boarding: Gerald R. Ford International Airport adds nonstop flight to Miami

This is the airport's 25th nonstop route.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - West Michigan travelers received good news on Monday morning.

The Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR) and American Airlines announced on Twitter they have added a 25th nonstop route to their map. Now, flyers out of Grand Rapids can catch a flight to Miami.

The new route will officially start on December 19, 2018, and will feature one daily trip in and out of Miami International Airport (MIA). The flight schedule for the new service includes a departure time from Grand Rapids daily at 6:05 a.m., and a daily return flight from MIA to GRR arriving at 12:48 a.m.

You can start booking flights now through American Airlines.

This is the eighth city in Florida that GFIA and American Airlines offer nonstop service. There is also nonstop service to Chicago-O’Hare, Dallas Fort Worth, Washington, D.C., Charlotte and Philadelphia.
