Bill Huizenga wins Michigan's 4th Congressional District

Incumbent Republican U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga was first elected to the House in 2010 and this will be his seventh term in office.

MICHIGAN, USA — Republican U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga has been called as the winner of Michigan's 4th Congressional District by the Associated Press.

As of 1:55 a.m. Wednesday morning, Rep. Huizenga had nearly a 22-point lead over challenger Swartz with slightly over half of precincts reporting.

Incumbent U.S. Rep. Huizenga was first elected to the House in 2010 and this will be his seventh term in office.

Huizenga was running against Democrat Jessica Swartz.

Swartz describes herself as a West Michigan mom and a public interest attorney.  

Michigan’s 4th Congressional District covers much of southwest Michigan, stretching from Lake Michigan to Battle Creek.
