Indiana Governor Mike Pence continued his campaign Saturday in Michigan for the top of the Republican ticket, Donald Trump.
This stop one of the many Trump's vice presidential pick made to West Michigan in hopes of sealing the deal for the Trump ticket. He last was in Lansing on Friday and the Air Zoo in Portage on Thursday.
Pence discussed his plans for the American people, while simultaneously taking jabs towards Hillary Clinton. The crowd erupted in chants of "lock her up" as a result.
Pence used the phrase "drain the swamp," which has become a staple in the Trump campaign. He said the American people have had enough of the status quo in D.C.
In a statement, Michigan Democratic Party chairman Brandon Dillon said Pence only is second to Trump when it comes to his dangerous ideas.
"Whether you look at his record as governor of Indiana, where he attacked workers and passed a job-killing Right to Work law, or his time in Congress when he “strongly opposed” the auto industry rescue that saved Michigan’s economy, it's clear that Mike Pence will do whatever it takes to benefit his wealthiest and most extreme supporters at the expense of working families," the statement reads, in part.
