3.19 MILLION BALLOTS | Nearly half of Michigan's active registered voters have cast ballots ahead of Election Day

In Kent County, a little over 222,000 people cast ballots between early in-person voting and absentee voting.

LANSING, Mich. — With in-person early voting complete and an Election Day tomorrow, nearly half of Michigan's active registered voters have already cast a ballot.

The Michigan Voting Dashboard shows a total of 3,196,038 ballots cast between early in-person voting and absentee voting. That is 43.9% of the 7,274,257 registered voters with an active status in Michigan.

Michiganders requested 2,329,387 absentee ballots statewide and have returned 1,981,594 absentee ballots ahead of Election Day. Voters will have until 8 p.m. on Election Day to return their absentee ballot to a drop box, polling location, or their local clerk's office.

This election is the first presidential election that allowed for early in-person voting and the turnout was expectedly historic, with 1,214,444 Michiganders heading to an early voting polling location and casting a ballot.

In Kent County, a little over 222,000 people cast ballots between early in-person voting and absentee voting. Ottawa County has had about 100,000 ballots cast and Muskegon County saw slightly less than 50,000 ballots cast ahead of Election Day.
