KENT COUNTY, Mich. — Kent County residents voted to approve a sinking fund millage for Kentwood Public Schools in Michigan's presidential primary Tuesday.

The sinking fund millage funding can be used for security improvements, upgrading technology, transportation, maintenance and more.

A sinking fund is a savings account that the district can deposit and use approved millage funding for approved projects.

The passed millage will levy 1.5718 mills, or $1.5718 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation, for 10 years from 2026 to 2035.
