OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. — Former President Donald Trump will be continuing his tour of battleground states with a stop in Oakland County on Friday.

Trump is set to speak at an Oakland County Community Roundtable to address manufacturing jobs, the cost of goods and the "failed policies" of the Biden-Harris administration.

This comes about a week after Trump appeared in Detroit—a visit that was marked by controversy after Trump told Detroit supporters that “Our whole country will end up being like Detroit if [Harris is] your president.”

Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign released a statement criticizing his upcoming visit, saying in part, "Trump doesn’t understand that Detroiters are proud of where we come from."

It has not been announced where Trump will be speaking. He is scheduled to begin his remarks at 5 p.m. He will reportedly be joined by Congressman Byron Donalds and Senate candidate Mike Rogers.

Harris, the Democratic nominee for president, will also be in Michigan on Friday. She is expected to speak in Grand Rapids, Lansing and Oakland County. She will then campaign in Detroit on Saturday.

This will be Harris' first time visiting West Michigan since becoming her party's nominee, and her sixth stop in Michigan.

Now just weeks from the election, Michigan has seen a slew of campaign events each week. Trump and Republican vice presidential nominee Sen. JD Vance have appeared multiple times in the state, including in Walker, Marne, Byron Center and Sparta.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Harris' running mate, was recently in Michigan at the end of September for a rally. Other notable people like First Lady Jill Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders have come to the battleground state on the campaign trail.
