WALKER, Mich. — Former President Donald Trump took the stage at a rally in Walker around 2 p.m. on Friday.
He spoke at FALK Production, located at 1782 Northbridge Drive NW.
Walker police posted on Facebook around 1:15 p.m. and said the event was at capacity. West Michiganders were asked to not attempt to enter the venue.
Police said people began lining up for the event at 5:30 a.m.
The former president was expected to focus on the economy when he spoke at the rally this afternoon.
In recent rallies, both Trump and his running mate JD Vance have been putting out a message to voters in the rust belt that many Midwesterners have been left behind by the Biden-Harris administration.
The Harris-Walz campaign released a statement ahead of the rally in Walker that said in part:
"Donald Trump is one of the biggest losers of manufacturing in American history. He makes empty promise after empty promise to American workers, but never delivers. As President, he cut taxes for corporations, encouraged outsourcing, and lost nearly 200,000 manufacturing jobs, including auto jobs. He has joked about firing workers, supported state anti-union laws, and suggested companies move jobs out of Michigan."
