DETROIT — Democratic vice presidential nominee Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is set to campaign in Detroit on Monday to energize voters ahead of Election Day.
Walz will be joined by his wife, Gwen Walz. Monday's event is the campaign's final "Get Out the Vote" effort before polls open on Tuesday. While the campaign did not provide specifics on what Walz will address, staff say the goal is to get voters excited to cast their ballots.
The rally will also feature musical performances from the Detroit Youth Choir, Jon Bon Jovi and Michigan-based duo The War and Treaty.
It has not been announced where or when the event will take place.
On Sunday, Gwen Walz held several campaign stops in Grand Rapids, and Vice President Kamala Harris also made a series of appearances in Metro Detroit and East Lansing.
Former President Donald Trump will also be in Michigan on the eve of Election Day. He is expected to speak at a rally in Grand Rapids at 10:30 p.m. Monday at Van Andel Arena.
Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance also made two stops in Michigan last week in Holland and Portage.
Polls open on Tuesday at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. Everything you need to know about casting your ballot can be found in our voter guide here.
