WASHINGTON, D.C. (WZZM)—President Obama took a moment Friday to recognize Michigan Senator Carl Levin, who is retiring at the end of this term.
"By the way, we will miss Carl Levin. I just wanted to mention that," said the President, drawing applause from the crowd.
The President's comment came while introducing his new candidate for Secretary of Defense- Ashton Carter.
Levin decided last year he would not seek a record-setting seventh term. He will be replaced by Gary Peters who won the election in November.
