Steel Vengeance, the park’s newest roller coaster makes its record-breaking debut in 2018. Are you thinking of riding it? We've put together a guide of everything you need to know before climbing aboard.
WHERE IS THE RIDE?
Steel Vengeance is located in the FrontierTown section in the back of the park where Mean Streak once stood. All you have to do is hang a right at Maverick and cross the railroad tracks and you’ll find Steel Vengeance there waiting.

HOW TALL DO I HAVE TO BE?
All riders must be at least 52” tall.
HOW FAST DOES IT GO?
74 mph.
HOW LONG IS IT?
5,740 feet with a ride time of 2:30.

205 feet. The first drop is 200 feet at a 90-degree angle.

ISN'T THIS RIDE THE SAME AS MEAN STREAK?
No! Not at all! Steel Vengeance is an all-new roller coaster experience that uses the same footprint where Mean Streak once stood. WHEN CAN I RIDE?
Cedar Point opens for the 2018 season on Saturday, May 5.
CAN I BRING MY BAG ON THE RIDE?
No loose articles will be permitted on Steel Vengeance, and there are no storage bins in the ride station. That means you must leave your things with a non-rider or purchase the use of a locker near the coaster. You can ride with glasses, but they must have a strap.
HOW MANY TRAINS ARE ON THERE?
Three, 24-passenger trains named after the park's new outlaw characters “Blackjack,” “Digger” and “Wild One.”
DO THE COASTER TRAINS REALLY HAVE WORKING HEADLIGHTS?
You may have seen commercials promoting Steel Vengeance that show each train with illuminated headlights, but park officials tell WKYC there are no actual headlights on the ride train. Sorry.
WHO BUILT IT?
Steel Vengeance was built by Rocky Mountain Construction, a company known for transforming old wooden roller coasters into a smoother, wood-steel hybrid experience.
IS THERE ANY THEMED MUSIC?
You bet! Park officials tell WKYC there will be Western-themed music in the area of the ride.
SOUVENIRS?
Want more than your on-ride photo? Unlike any other roller coasters at Cedar Point, Steel Vengeance offers guests the opportunity to purchase video of themselves on the ride. There’s a new Steel Vengeance gift shop, too, just in case you want that shot glass or T-shirt. NOTE: Park officials have not yet announced the price of on-ride videos.
