FREE SOIL TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Corey Beekman, 32, has been arraigned on charges related to the killing of a Mears man.
Beekman faces open murder, assault with intent to murder and felony firearms charges from shooting that occurred on Tuesday, April 16. In the incident, police said 32-year-old William Buchanan died after being shot multiple times.
The shooting took place at a residence in the 10000 block of North US-31. A 32-year-old female in the home was also shot. She was treated at a local hospital and has since been release. Two children in the home were unharmed in the shooting.
Beekman remains lodged in the Mason County Jail.
