United Flight 3645 after an emergency landing in Chicago

CHICAGO, Illinois (WZZM) - A United Airlines flight from Grand Rapids had to make an emergency landing in Chicago. This according to Jim Petzing, a passenger on that flight.

United Airlines flight 3645 departed Gerald R Ford airport in Grand Rapids at 3pm. 20 minutes into the flight the pilot told passengers they were having a problem with the front landing gear. A few minutes later the pilot informed said they would be making an emergency landing. The plane landed at 3:21pm at O'Hare Airport without the front landing gear down.

"We were instructed by the flight attendants on how to brace ourselves for the landing. As we got about 150 feet from the ground 200 feet from the ground it seemed, the flight attendant screamed brace, brace, brace! And we all got into brace position and then the women in front of me was getting sick to her stomach, a baby was screaming, but overall we landed and then the nose of the plane tipped forward because there was no tire there deployed and we went for a little while on the runway scraping. I thought we would turn and roll but we didn't, " says Petzing.

All 37 passengers and 4 crew members are safe. We will have more information as it becomes available.
