FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Four members of the Davenport University men's baseball team were arrested in Florida over the weekend.
The Panthers took on Nova Southeastern in Fort Lauderdale and dropped two games in the out-of-conference series.
"Regrettably, four team members were involved in activities that led to their arrest. The initial charges are for loitering," the university said in a statement.
"Davenport University takes these matters seriously, and we are actively cooperating with authorities in the investigation. We have a code of conduct for all students and an additional code of conduct for athletes. These student athletes are being held to those standards."
It was not immediately clear the circumstances leading up to their arrest, nor the names of the players involved.
Davenport is scheduled for another road weekend series at Ashland on Friday, March 15.
