KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Flooding at Homer Stryker Field is nothing new.
A deluge of heavy rains in southern Michigan this week closed several roads and flooded the Kalamazoo Growlers home stand Tuesday. Butted up to the Kalamazoo River, this typically happens during the offseason.
Because of this extreme flooding, the Growlers postponed Tuesday's doubleheader and Wednesday's game against the Kokomo Jackrabbits.
Knee-deep standing water remains, with flooding covering the entire field, concourse, bathrooms, team merchandise shop, concession stand and other parts of the facility.
The organization said this is the first time they've asked for fans' support to clean up with a GoFundMe and a "Fight the Flood" ticket package.
Crews are working hard to drain the water, clean up the mess and get fans back in seats for this weekend's game against the Battle Creek Battle Jacks.
The "Fight the Flood" ticket package grants entry to the Saturday, July 20 home game with fireworks postgame, a Growlers hat, and a hot dog voucher for $18.

The GoFundMe account has a $10,000 goal.
The Growlers are an affiliate of the Northwoods League.
