Cordell Jones-McNally loves first-year as walk-on at Michigan

He's playing for his home state team and the university he grew up loving.

HOUSTON — One guy who is hoping to score one day at the Big House is kicker Cordell Jones-McNally.

The freshman is a walk-on from Marcellus High School, and is by far the smallest kid on the team standing at 5-feet 8-inches tall and weighing 178 pounds.

However, that did not stop Jones-McNally from dreaming big.

He's playing for his home state team and the university he grew up loving.

He is pumped to be here.

“I mean, the best football, the best academics, and the team? There’s no body like them," Jones-McNally said. "It’s such a great brotherhood. It’s awesome I love it here. Oh it’s crazy. It’s amazing. It’s unbelievable. It’s awesome. It’s surreal. It’s crazy I never thought this would happen in my life."

Jones McNally has several family members in town to support him for the national championship.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. on Monday night on ESPN.
