ALLENDALE, Mich. (WZZM) -- Grand Valley State's football team got over the hump last week after winning its first game of the season, 66-28 over Lake Erie.
The victory snapped a three-game losing streak to open the season.
Now, the Lakers hope to build off it entering Saturday's 4:30 p.m. road game against Hillsdale College.
"You win, you get more confident," GVSU head football coach Matt Mtchell said.. "We weren't very confident the last three weeks, but I think we're getting to that point where we're learning what it takes to have success and the guys are embracing that."
Senior quarterback Heath Parlling, whose missed the past two games due to injury, is expected to start for the Lakers.
