Davenport lands Muskegon star on signing day

He's excited for the coaches at Davenport, but Brant Brooks II says the coaching he received at Muskegon High School was second to none.

MUSKEGON, Mich. — Muskegon football is all about championships and scholarships.

One player who experienced both is wide receiver Brant Brooks II. He signed on Wednesday to play for Davenport in the GLIAC.

"The facility there was nice," Brooks said. "It wasn't like I was needed there but I felt like I would be a great fit there. When I get there, I am going to do what I have to do. I like Davenport. It's a big school. Nice people. Nice coaches."

He's excited for the coaches at Davenport but Brooks says the coaching he received at Muskegon High School was second to none.

"They prepared us throughout life not just school," Brooks said. "They want to make sure we are on top of everything."

A few of Brooks' Big Reds teammates are joining other schools in the GLIAC and Brooks can't wait to square up against his teammates.

"We're ready," Brooks said. "I don't think it is going to be weird. We are ready to go against each other."
