East Kentwood star Christian Humphrey-Rembert focused on senior season

The six-foot nine-inch forward has definitely shown his athleticism during the Falcons impressive 10-5 campaign this season.

KENTWOOD, Mich — East Kentwood High School star Christian Humphrey-Rembert was once committed to play college basketball at Howard University, but he decommitted at the beginning of January. He has been keeping his options open for the past month.

"I just wanted to decommit so I could go somewhere where I can play as a freshman and work my way to how I want to see myself as a player," Humphrey-Rembert said. "Just a place that believes in me and develop me. I want to go to a place that will stick with me through my lows and highs and let me make mistakes."

The six-foot nine-inch forward has definitely shown his athleticism during the Falcons impressive 10-5 campaign this season. He is a three-star recruit according to 247sports.

The senior also has offers from Brown, Harvard and Central Arkansas.

However, right now, his sole focus is on his senior season. He believes everything will fall in place.

"I just need to keep playing at the highest level I can," Humphrey-Rembert said. "Everything will come."

That mindset has his team very excited about what could potentially happen for the Falcons this season.

"One of the things I really enjoy about coaching Christian is that he is a team-first," East Kentwood head coach Mike Thomas said. "He has a goal to win and compete for a state title. That's all that matters to him right now. Whatever comes with it, comes with it. That's why I think he's a truly, truly special kid. He's a great leader."

East Kentwood plays at home on Tuesday night against Jenison.
