MICHIGAN, USA — As the temperatures dropped on Friday the weather was perfect for a Friday night football game.

Game of the Week: South Christian at East Grand Rapids
When the Pioneers faced the Sailors in the 2023 football season it was one of the most exciting games of the year. In the end, East Grand Rapids beat South Christian 23-21. Going into week two, both teams were 1-0. South Christian defeated Grand Rapids Christian 42-27 in week one this year while East Grand Rapids took down Lowell 33-13. South Christian came in strong having made it to the state championship game two straight years in a row, winning in 2022 and losing in 2023. East Grand Rapids is a formidable opponent though, with a 7-3 record last year. The two teams have played each other just eight times before, East Grand Rapids winning seven of those eight games.

South Christian vs. East Grand Rapids: South Christian won, 42-28.
Muskegon vs. Rockford: Rockford won, 28-21.
East Kentwood vs. Byron Center: Byron Center won, 43-20.
West Catholic vs. Coopersville: West Catholic won, 63-28.
