GRAND RAPIDS, Mich — For all of our Scholar Athletes, balancing the demands of school and sports could be described as an art. That's convenient for this week's Scholar Athlete, because she loves art.
Maggie Sneider is a senior at Forest Hills Central High School. She has a 4.1 GPA. Her favorite subjects are history and art.
"I want to hopefully go into art education someday," Sneider said. "I just love the way it allows people to communicate things with more than just words. I'm into sculpture and hopefully I want to teach elementary art."
This time of year she plays basketball but she also plays lacrosse and volleyball during the other sports seasons.
"Being a three-sport athlete, I'm busy all year round and so that just helps me maintain my routine and just know what to stick to and how to dedicate my time to different things," she said.
Sneider is a member of the National Honor Society and the art club. After graduation, she plans to play lacrosse at Lindenwood University in Missouri.
