MUSKEGON, Mich. — Our next Meijer Scholar Athlete of the Week is the guy at his school. That is no exaggeration.
Muskegon High School senior M'Khi Guy is mister do it all.
We've seen him shine on the football field and the basketball court for the Big Reds.
However, his accolades away from sports are even more impressive.
Guy is the president of the school's national honors society, the president of the student leadership council and he is in the MHSAA student advisory council.
On top of all of that, he maintains a 4.2 GPA. Guy loves being a student athlete.
"It's the work ethic and being dedicated to what you do," Guy said. "Not falling behind on nothing. In football, you can't fall behind on film or fall behind on players not knowing what you've got to do. You've got to maintain to be positive and continue to do your work. That's like going to work and not getting paid. That's how it is in school. You've got to turn in all this work. You have take your notes and when it comes to the test, you have to finish it. The getting paid part is your grade. I am a studier. I study a lot."
You definitely did not know this about Mr. Guy, he's raised by a pastor so he knows how to play a Leslie organ.
Guy has a few scholarship offers for both football and basketball, but he is not exactly sure what he wants to do just yet.
