GRAND RAPIDS, Mich — The next Meijer Scholar Athlete of the week really uses his faith to help him succeed in both school and sports.
South Christian High School student Noah Funk knows all about hard work.
The senior Sailor plays both football and baseball, and was still able to perform at a high level both on and off of the field even after transferring from Grand Rapids Christian before his final year of high school.
Funk spends a lot of his free time in worship groups and bible studies, and is still able to maintain a 4.0 GPA.
He really leans on his faith to get him through everything.
"Really just prioritizing your time well is the biggest thing," Funk said. "Just staying on top. Paying attention in class, doing your homework and staying on top of all of your work. Just doing your best. It's something I always had. My parents always encouraged me to do my best in everything that I do. It's not for myself or even my parents, it's for the glory of God. I feel like it's my responsibility."
Funk does not know where he wants to attend college or what he wants to do with the rest of his life yet, but he trusts it will all work out in the end.
