BYRON CENTER, Mich. — This week's Meijer Scholar Athlete has been a household name at Zion Christian, not just for his contributions for the three different varsity teams he plays, but for the work he does in the classroom.
Silas Moes plays varsity soccer, where he is a two-time member of the all-state team. He also plays baseball where he is two-time all-conference and basketball where he is three-time all-conference and holds two school records.
Outside of athletics, Moes is a youth group leader at his church and a fifth grade mentor. He does this all while maintaining a 3.95 GPA and Moes says the key to being so successful in all aspects of his life comes from making sure he puts his work in the classroom above all else.
In the fall, Moes will attend Cornerstone University and play on the basketball team.
