GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The next Meijer Scholar Athlete of the Week is very tall, so it's easy to see her, but its her attitude that really sets her a part from the pack.
Forest Hills Northern High School student Kylie Loehfelm loves school and volleyball equally.
The junior Huskie says science is her favorite subject and she is involved in several activities outside of sports.
Loehfelm is in the school's rotary interact club, the student government and the national honors society with a 3.8 GPA.
She says success in both sports and school comes down to one thing.
"It takes a lot of hard work," Loehfelm said. "Talking to your teachers is probably the hardest part for me. Just because I am a shy person but being able to have time management and being able to talk to your teachers in and outside of class and creating good bonds with your teachers too. If you have a test or something you can get extra study material so you are prepared."
Loehfelm does not know exactly where she wants to go to college yet given she is only a junior, but she hopes to become a pedictrican someday.
