GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Last year, Macy Brown from East Grand Rapids High School was named Michigan's Miss Basketball. The Michigan Wolverine became the first girl from the west side of the state to win the honor in six years.
However, in 2024, West Michigan might go back to back with the award.
Two girls from this side of the mitten have been named nominees for the award in 2024 — Gabby Reynolds from West Ottawa and Lily Zeinstra out of Byron Center.
Reynolds has popped off this season. She is averaging 30.6 points per game on top of four rebounds and four assists per contest. The Panthers star will play at George Washington next year.
Zeinstra, on the other hand, pours in an average of 25 points per night to go along with nine rebounds and four steals per game. She is signed to play for the Butler Bulldogs next year.
The other three candidates are Salem's Madison Morson and West Bloomfield twin sisters Indya and Summer Davis.
