Ferris State men's and women's basketball heading to Elite Eight

The Bulldogs are continuing their runs in the NCAA DII Championships after both the men's and women's earned wins in the Sweet Sixteen.

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. — The dance continues for the Ferris State University Bulldogs basketball programs.

Both the men's and women's basketball teams are heading to the Elite Eight in the NCAA DII Championship after winning close games in the Sweet Sixteen.

The FSU Bulldog's women's program was the No. 3 seed in their region, narrowly defeating rival Grand Valley State University 49-46 in the Sweet Sixteen.

FSU women's basketball is heading to St. Joseph, MO to take on No. 6 seed University of Tampa on Monday, March 25.

The men's team is also making a run this year, coming out of their region as the No. 5 seed.

The Bulldogs defeated Lake Superior State in a nail biter 86-81 in the Sweet Sixteen after upsetting the No. 1 seeded University of Indianapolis in the previous round.

The men's basketball team is now headed to Evansville, IN to take on top-seeded Minnesota State University on Tuesday, March 26.

If the Bulldogs top Minnesota State, they will head to the Final Four on Wednesday, March 27.

This marks the first year that the women's team has made an Elite Eight in the post-season and the third time for the men's team.
