GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — MVP Sports Clubs broke ground on a brand-new pickleball complex on Friday.

The facility, located at 115 Crahen Avenue NE, will be 17,000 square feet and offer court time and expert-led lessons from beginners to advanced players.

The complex will also offer pickleball ladder leagues, tournaments and even group outings.

“Pickleball is a game that is accessible to all ages and all skill levels, which is one of the reasons why I believe it’s become so popular among our members,” said Jason Chen, director of tennis and pickleball programming at MVP Crahen. “Whether you play competitively or as a social outlet, it’s easy to learn and a lot of fun.”

The facility will feature six indoor courts dedicated to year-round pickleball and six outdoor seasonal courts. There will also be outdoor spaces for social activities and a large turf area to play yard games.

MVP Sports Clubs currently runs five membership-based athletic clubs across West Michigan with over 25,000 members.

Currently, the clubs use indoor and outdoor tennis courts lined for both sports with temporary pickleball nets. Owners said they're excited to have a club just for pickleball, freeing up their tennis courts.

The new facility is expected to open in summer 2024.
