Here's what time the Michigan-Washington game will actually kick off

The No. 1 and No. 2 ranked teams go head to head in the College Football Playoff National Championship game on Monday, Jan. 8 at 7:30 p.m.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The University of Michigan Wolverines (14-0) punched their ticket to the 2023-24 College Football Playoff Championship Game after defeating No. 4 Alabama in an overtime thriller at the Rose Bowl.

The No. 2 Washington Huskies (14-0) held off Texas in the Sugar Bowl. 

Now, the two teams go head to head in the College Football Playoff National Championship game scheduled for Monday, Jan. 8.

If you've searched for the time the game begins, you've probably found 7:30 p.m. as the start time.

But that's not actually when kick-off will begin. 

GAMEDAY TIMELINE 

12 p.m. At noon on Monday, Jan. 8, the NRG Stadium on-site parking lots open to fans. 

4:30 p.m. The NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas gates open. 

5:30 p.m. The field is now available for the Huskies and the Wolverines. 

6:58 p.m. Michigan's full team warmup. 

7:16 p.m. Michigan Band performance. 

7:36 p.m. National Anthem. 

7:40 p.m. Michigan Wolverines enter the football field. 

7:41 p.m. Washington Huskies enter the football field. 

7:42 p.m. Coin Toss.

7:45 p.m. Kickoff. 

Coverage of the College Football Championship between the Michigan Wolverines and the Washington Huskies is slated to begin at 7:30 p.m. 

The kickoff that follows the national anthem and performance by Fantasia will take place at 7:45 p.m., the NCAA says. 

WHAT CHANNEL IS THE GAME ON? 

The game airs exclusively on ESPN. You can also watch on the ESPN app. 

If you don't have cable, you have other streaming options but be prepared to pay.
