MICHIGAN ON THE BIG SCREEN | Celebration Cinema offering showings of National Championship game

Can't fork over $1,000 for a national championship ticket in Houston? Us either. Here's how to watch the game on the big screen.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Many Michigan Wolverines fans are hyped to see their team compete in the National Football Championship game against the Washington Huskies next week.

It's unlikely that most will be able to afford the plane ticket, hotel fare and gameday tickets to watch the team in maize and blue compete on Monday.

Ticket prices at the 100 level at NRG Stadium in Houston could cost you as much as $1,200, with some seats going for $50,000 on TickPick.

While there will be countless watch parties at homes, bars and restaurants, a West Michigan movie theater is offering up its big screen for the game.

Celebration Cinema locations in Grand Rapids, Muskegon, Lansing and Portage will screen the game for fans.

“If you can’t be at the stadium, this is the ultimate way to see the National Championship game,” says Eric Kuiper, Director of Programming.  “Movie theatres provide a full immersion experience with few distractions, in a room full of fans!”

Tickets cost $20 a seat. The theater chain said drink and concession specials, including a free small popcorn for ticket holders, are up for grabs.
