This week’s Meijer Scholar Athlete is making history at her school.
Ivy Andreas is believed to be Potter House High School’s first-ever sophomore four-sport athlete.
The 16-year-old sophomore plays volleyball and runs cross country in the fall, and in the winter she plays basketball. In the spring, she also does track and field.
Somehow, she also keeps a 4.2 GPA. While she credits her time management skills for her success, she says none of it would be possible without the understanding of her coaches and teachers.
“I think since we’re a small school, it’s a big thing to have people involved in two sports at once," she explains. "The fact that I’m doing it and I’m one of the only girls who have done it, they’re excited to see that I’m progressing in it and actually doing well for our small school.”
Though unsure of where she is going to college, Andreas hopes to major in science.
