GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Seeing that he’s a three-sport star at Northview, it’s no surprise this week’s Meijer Scholar Athlete ends up in his trainer’s office from time to time with injuries.
However as Jalen Charity would tell you, some good came out of his frequent appearances at physical therapy. Through recovery, the 18-year-old senior got to know Wildcats trainer Brian Killinger who in turn, inspired Charity to pursue a career in sports medicine when he begins college next fall.
“Sometimes I go in there and we talk about random stud but sometimes I go in there with some injuries, (and) he’ll give me some nice details about what they are and where it is. It will help me a lot” Charity says.
Charity has a 3.76 GPA. Though he has not decided on where he is going to college, he is being recruited by several Division II and III scores to play basketball.
