DETROIT — The Detroit Lions announced some contract extensions for key staff ahead of the 2024-25 season.
Lions head coach Dan Campbell agreed to a multi-year extension through the 2027 season, following what many considered to be Detroit's best season of the Super Bowl era.
In addition to Campbell extending his contract, Executive Vice President and General Manager Brad Holmes also agreed to a contract extension through the 2027 season.
"We are thrilled to have Brad and Dan under contract for the next four seasons," said Detroit Lions Principal Owner and Chair Sheila Hamp. "They have been the driving force behind the rebuild of our football team and the success that we have enjoyed. The continuity they provide for our football program will continue to be the key to our future success on the field."
Campbell and Holmes joined the organization in 2021 and both are credited with turning the Detroit Lions into a winning franchise. Between Campbell's coaching and Holmes' roster building, the two have transformed the Lions from a 3-13-1 record in 2021 to a division winning team with a 12-5 record in 2023.
Longtime Lion player and front office worker Chris Spielman also signed multi-year contract extension as the organization's Chairperson and Special Assistant to the President/CEO.
"I could not be more proud of the work that Brad, Dan and Chris have done for our organization," said President and CEO Rod Wood. "They have selflessly worked together to build a winning culture within the Lions. I am excited to continue working with them to create the sustained success that we envision for the team, our fans, and the city of Detroit."
