CANADA, — Shay Colley used to play guard for the Michigan State University women's basketball team. Now, she'll be representing the Canadian women's basketball team in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
This will be Colley's second Olympic appearance. She also represented Canada at the 2020 games in Tokyo.
Colley played three seasons at MSU. Her last season was during the 2019-2020 campaign. During her time playing as a Spartan, she averaged 12.6 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.
Last February, Team Canada qualified for their fourth-straight Olympic Games. They finished third in one of four FIBA Women's Olympic Qualification Tournaments. The Paris games will be the team's eighth appearance in the Olympic women's basketball tournament since it debuted at Montreal 1976.
The Paris games will be the first time in 24 years that Canada's women's and men's teams will be competing at the same Olympic Games.
The women's basketball tournament will take place from July 27 to August 11, days 1 through 16 of the games.
