KENTWOOD, Mich. — The City of Kentwood has partnered up with Great Lakes Disc to host the seventh annual Freeze Fest Disc Golf Tournament and Food Drive.
Disc golfers of all skill levels are invited to play in the best shot doubles tournament.
The event will benefit Kentwood's Little Free Pantry program, a city-run food pantry that offers food, personal care and other items for free to residents.
The program runs completely on donations from the public and has two locations at the Kentwood Activities Center and the Kentwood (Richard L. Root) Branch of the Kent District Library.
“It’s been amazing to see the popularity of our disc golf tournaments grow over the years and, along with it, the support of Kentwood’s Little Free Pantry,” said Lori Gresnick, Kentwood recreation program coordinator. "We are grateful the disc golfer community continues to take part in our annual tournaments for some friendly competition and for a good cause.”
The Freeze Fest Disc Golf Tournament will take place at Jaycee Park in Kentwood on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 9:45 a.m. Pre-registration is now open at Kentwood.us/FreezeFest. On-site registration for the tournament will take place at 9 a.m. the same day as the tournament.
The tournament is a best shot doubles tournament, so a partner is needed to register. Registration costs $40 per team, plus a canned good donation.
Every player will receive a player package at check-in with opportunities for prizes during the tournament.
