The Pistons Academy returns to West Michigan in June

Each camper will receive a reversible Pistons jersey and two complimentary tickets to a Pistons game this upcoming season.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Detroit Pistons will once again be in West Michigan this summer.

The team will be at South Christian High School in June for their youth basketball camp.

It's the ninth year the Pistons Academy will host camps all across the Mitten. The team will also visit 14 metro Detroit locations as well as Traverse City.

Each day will consist of professional instruction with skill development followed by full-court games. They also want to develop the campers into better people off of the court.

"I think it is important to inspire kids with seeing and finding someone that looks like them or acts like them that they can be like when they grow up," Pistons Director of Youth Engagement and Development Aaron Smith said. "We all can't be Cade Cunningham on the court, but we can all be great people off of the court."

The Pistons are thrilled to be back in West Michigan again.

"There is great basketball on this side of town," Smith said. "When we did our camp last summer, just the level of competition, the competitive spirit, was on ten. Honestly, it was probably the best camp we had all summer last summer. It only made sense that we came back and bring them some more. There are going to be a few extra bells and whistles this summer."

One of the big surprises is the Pistons Dunk team will be in Grand Rapids for the camp.

The Pistons Academy will take place in Grand Rapids from June 24 to the 29th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for boys and girls entering 3rd grade through 9th grade. You can sign up for the camp on the www.pistonsacademy.com. There are just over 100 spots available.

Each camper will receive a reversible Pistons jersey and two complimentary tickets to a Pistons game this upcoming season.
