LOS ANGELES — When the Michigan State women's basketball team opens its NCAA Tournament run on Friday, three West Michigan natives will be making their March Madness debuts.

Theryn Hallock, Abbey Kimball and Lauren Ross have yet to participate in an NCAA Tournament with the Spartans. When Michigan State last made the big dance back in 2021, Hallock was at Forest Hills Central, Kimball at West Catholic and Ross was at Western Michigan. Ross spent her high school career at Reeths-Puffer.

Hallock was named the Big Ten Sixth Women of the Year this season, averaging over eleven points off the bench. Kimball played in 30 games for Michigan State, averaging eight points a game. Ross appeared in nine games this season.

The Spartans and North Carolina are set for an 11:30 a.m. tip on ESPN2.
