KENT COUNTY, Mich. — A worldwide technology outage affected companies around the world, including banks, airlines, media outlets and more.
The cause of the outage stems from an issue with the CrowdStrike, a cybersecurity technology company.
While there are reports of the outage affecting flights, banks and other companies worldwide, there are no issues being reported with emergency services here in West Michigan.
13 ON YOUR SIDE reached out to the county dispatches in Kent, Ottawa and Muskegon counties overnight and they told us they were not impacted by the outage.
The Grand Rapids Police Department also said they were not impacted.
