ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. — Two people are dead after a crash Tuesday night in Monterey Township. The Allegan County Sheriff's Office reported that the crash occurred in the area of 30th Street and 134th Avenue just after 8 p.m.

Authorities said a car was traveling westbound and failed to stop at a stop sign when a semi-truck traveling northbound struck it.

There were two people in the car. They were both pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are withholding their names pending notification of family.

Despite the semi-truck overturning, the driver was uninjured. However, the truck was loaded with milk which spilled into the roadway causing it to be closed for some time for clean-up.

The road has since reopened.
