DEARBORN, Mich. — Gas prices in Michigan are on a downward trend, resulting in the lowest prices since early June, the American Automobile Association (AAA) reported Monday.
AAA said that the average price of gas in Michigan is down five cents from a week ago and 39 cents less than this time last month. The average price of a gallon of gas in Michigan is $3.41, about 37 cents less than this time last year.
"Gas prices continue to fall, with Michigan motorists seeing the lowest prices since early June," said Adrienne Woodland, spokesperson, AAA-The Auto Club Group. "Mild gasoline demand, steady supply, and low oil costs may cause pump prices to slide further."
AAA is reporting the least expensive gas price averages in Grand Rapids ($3.34), Flint ($3.34) and Saginaw ($3.36). The highest gas price averages are found in Ann Arbor ($3.52), Jackson ($3.45) and Marquette ($3.44), according to AAA.
Michigan's average price of a gallon of gas is still about six cents above the national average of $3.35 a gallon.
