Gas prices decrease three cents in Michigan

Michigan drivers are now paying an average of $51 for a full 15-gallon tank of gas.

Gas prices in Michigan have deceased just slightly after setting a new 2021-high last week. According to AAA, gas prices are currently down three cents, with drivers paying an average of $3.40 per gallon for regular unleaded.

That price is eight cents more than this time last month and $1.33 more that this time last year. Michigan drivers are now paying an average of $51 for a full 15-gallon tank of gas.

“The decrease in demand has contributed to some slight price relief at the pump for drivers,” said Adrienne Woodland, spokesperson, AAA-The Auto Club Group. “However, pump prices will likely remain elevated as long as oil prices are above $80 per barrel.”

According to AAA, the most expensive prices are being seen in Marquette, Saginaw and Lansing. The cheapest prices are being seen Detroit, Flint and Traverse City.
