OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — UPDATE 2/2/2022, 5:53 p.m.: Ottawa County Dispatch along with MDOT have confirmed the roadway has reopened as of 5:53 p.m. Wednesday.
UPDATE 2/2/2022, 4:53 p.m.: Michigan State Police reported at 4:47 p.m. via twitter that "Eastbound I-96 remains closed as crews clean up the crash. Please find an alternate route."
UPDATE 2/2/2022, 2:26 p.m.: Michigan State Police are reporting that it is a fatal crash.
No updates to any other injuries. The freeway remains closed at this time.

Parts of EB I-96 are shutdown after an injury crash in Ottawa County Wednesday afternoon.
Ottawa County Dispatch Supervisor Shonda Walski says the accident has shut down I-96 from the 9 mile marker to the 16 mile marker.
The accident includes all on ramps to EB I-96 from Crockery Township to Coopersville.
It is unknown at this time the extent of injuries or how long those parts of I-96 will be shut down.
