KENT COUNTY, Mich. — A Michigan law firm released its annual report of the most dangerous intersections in the state along with lists of the most dangerous intersections in some of the counties.
MichiganAutoLaw.com shared their list for Kent County and for the eighth year in a row one of Grand Rapids' busiest intersections is also the county's most dangerous.
The intersection of US-131 and Wealthy Street is the most dangerous intersection in Kent County yet again, according to the list.
MichiganAutoLaw.com says the intersection saw an additional 14 crashes year-over-year from 2022 to 2023, but saw a much larger increase in injuries, up nearly 200% with 28 in 2023 compared to only 10 in 2022.
The second most dangerous intersection, Burton St. SW at US-131, was also ranked number two in 2022 and actually saw decreases in both injuries and crashes in 2023.
Another notable trend on the list is 28th Street intersections appearing quite frequently, with six of the 10 most dangerous intersections being on the major road. Below, you can find the 10 most dangerous intersections in Kent County, according to MichiganAutoLaw.com.

- 28th St. SW at Clyde Park Ave. SW - Wyoming - 62 Total Crashes, 20 Injuries
- 28th St. at I-96 - Cascade Township - 59 total crashes, 9 injuries
- Alpine Ave. NW at Center Dr. NW - Walker - 54 total crashes, 11 injuries
- I-196 at US-131 - Grand Rapids - 52 total crashes, 8 injuries
- 28th St SE at Broadmoor Ave. SE - Grand Rapids - 48 total crashes, 11 injuries
- 28th St SW at Buchanan Ave. SW - Wyoming - 46 total crashes, 19 injuries
- 28th St SW at US-131 - Wyoming - 46 total crashes, 10 injuries
- 28th St SE at S Division Ave. - Grand Rapids - 45 total crashes, 17 injuries
