GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is holding a public meeting Thursday to share information about the upcoming construction projects coming to West Michigan.
Attendees can learn more about how the projects could impact their commutes and other project-specific information.
The meeting will cover projects beginning this spring and summer, including the following:
- Rebuilding US-131 from 100th Street to 76th Street. Adding interchange connection lanes from 76th Street to 84th Street (April 2024 - winter 2026).
- US-131 bridge improvements over Plaster Creek and concrete pavement repairs from M-11 (28th Street) to Pearl Street (April - May).
- Rebuilding the northbound US-131 ramp to I-96 and M-37 (Alpine Avenue) (May - October).
- Rebuilding the ramps at the M-6/I-96 interchange (May - November).
- Improving the M-11 (28th Street) bridge over Little Plaster Creek (October - November).
- Improving the Segwun Avenue bridge over I-96 (April - July).
- Building a roundabout at the M-89/M-40/Hubbard Street intersection in the city of Allegan. Resurfacing M-89 between M-222 and 29th Street (March - November).
- Rebuilding I-196 Business Loop from US-31 in Holland to 88th Avenue in Zeeland (April - November).
- Rebuilding I-96 from Bliss Road to Sunfield Road with bridge improvements on Jordan Lake Road over I-96 in Ionia County (June 2024 - fall 2026).
