COOPERSVILLE, Mich. — Shortly after noon on Thursday the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office responded to the intersection of 48th Avenue and Arthur in Coopersville for a crash.

The crash involved a van and a semi with a trailer. Investigators on the scene said a California man driving a 2022 freight liner pulling a trailer West on Arthur failed to yield right away for a southbound Chrysler Town and Country.

A 30-year-old Ravenna woman was driving the van. The crash left her pinned in the vehicle but first responders pulled her out and rushed her to a nearby hospital.

Officials said her injuries were serious. However, there was also an infant child in the van who was unharmed.

The intersection was closed for some time for cleanup but has since reopened. The crash is still under investigation.
