IT'S OPEN | The Allegan roundabout is ready for traffic

The city said the opening of the roundabout marks the completion of Phase One of the M89 Improvement Project.

ALLEGAN, Mich. — The City of Allegan's new roundabout is officially open.

As of Friday, traffic is navigating the new Cedar/Ely/Hubbard/Jenner/Marshall roundabout.

The city said the opening of the roundabout marks the completion of Phase One of the M89 Improvement Project.

Although the roundabout is open, construction will continue throughout the project area, so the city said commuters should still travel cautiously. 

According to the city, Phase Two will resume after the fair and is expected to wrap up in November. 

During this time, drivers should expect some lane closures between Trowbridge and Monroe Streets.
