GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The on- and off-ramps at Martin Luther King Jr. Street and northbound US-131 are scheduled to close at 6 a.m. on Monday, April 8 and remain closed through 9 p.m. on Friday, April 12.
These closures are in addition to northbound US-131 being closed from M-11 (28th Street) to Burton Street as part of a $6.2 million project to improve the northbound and southbound bridges over Plaster Creek.
Northbound US-131 closed on March 31 and is expected to reopen on April 25.
The on-ramps to northbound US-131 from 44th, 36th and 28th Streets and Market Avenue will remain closed through April 20.
The off-ramp from northbound US-131 to Pearl Street remains closed through April 10.
All northbound traffic needs to exit at or before 28th Street.
One lane of northbound US-131 will stay open from Burton Street to Pearl Street.
Southbound US-131 will be closed at Burton Street once the northbound US-131 work is complete.
Once the work on southbound US-131 has begun, it's expected to take around four weeks to complete. Ramp closures will be in effect and one lane of southbound US-131 will remain open from Ann Street to Burton Street.
