MUSKEGON, Mich. - Continued downpours across West Michigan have raised flooding concerns — and even shut down roads in places.

Due to the heavy rain, the US-31 Business Route between Whitehall and Montague was closed around 1 a.m. Wednesday morning. Muskegon County Central Dispatch said the barriers were put after water flooded over the roadway so that crews could pump water away.
Because the impacted area is a major bridge over the Muskegon River, dispatch says the best detour is US-31.
