Storm reports, rainfall totals after Sunday's storms in West Michigan

A line of thunderstorms Sunday evening knocked down trees and caused power outages as heavy downpours created flooding.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Strong thunderstorms developed over Lake Michigan around sunset Sunday evening and intensified as they moved through southern Lower Michigan, causing damage and knocking out power.

Multiple reports of damage were reported in several locations including Keeler, Bloomingdale, Comstock, Lawton and Portage.

Even though a Tornado Warning was issued around 10 pm Sunday, an NWS Grand Rapids storm survey Monday concluded no storm damage was found to corroborate a possible sighting.

RAINFALL

Heavy downpours up to 5"+ caused flooding in some locations.
